Girl raped in Banglore

Imphal, June 03 2013: In yet another sexual molestation case related to a girl from Manipur, the case of a young girl from Ukhrul allegedly raped by her friend, also from same community, has surfaced in Bangalore with an FIR registered at HAL police station.

According to the FIR registered at HAL police station in Bangalore, the 22-year old Tangkhul girl was sexually assaulted allegedly by one Ningkhalem Sharon from Longpi Kachui under Ukhrul district on May 14 at Marathahalli, Bangalore.

The accused has been absconding after committing the crime.

An FIR(0297/2013) was lodged at HAL police station on May 15 but failed to make any breakthrough in the case till today.

In an official press communique issued on Monday, Tangkhul Katamnao Long, Bangalore (TKLB) has strongly condemned the inhuman act and urged the law enforcing authorities to speed up the process of justice delivery.

TKLB also appealed to both the families of victim and the accused to cooperate with the authorities instead of taking the matter into their own hands.

''We fervently prayed to all the community members and individuals to kindly cooperate and support to bring the matter in the limelight of the law,'' said a statement signed by TKLB president Ningkhalem Kashung and general secretary Pammiyo Kasar.

A source informed that the victim party has been keeping the Bangalore incident from going to the media.
