Six months training course on "Lashing Phee" commence

Weaving of 'Lashing Phee' which was once very common among the people of the state need to be encouraged and revived today, said O Nabakishwar, Principle Secretary, Commerce and Industries.
Speaking at the inaugural function of the Six months training course on "Lashing Phee", conducted under the scheme of "Original Works of Handicrafts" of the Department of Commerce and Industries at Moirang Purel Community Hall, Kwakeithel today, O Nabakishwar said that all those persons who understand the value of Lashing Phee will go after this type of clothes which are very comfortable to wear.
The production of Lashing Phee was very much prevalent in the state years back, but it gradually decline due to various reasons.
Now again the profession has showed up.
This profession needs to be encouraged.
The training programme will enable all the participants to follow this profession and become a successful entrepreneur in future.
The function was presided by N Raghumani, Chairperson IMC.
V Tualthang, Director, Commerce and Idustries, L Haridas, Asst Director, MSME, GoI, S Birendra, Functional Manager, Officer in charge Handicrafts, Commerce and Industries, Manipur were the Guest of Honour.
