Imphal, January 10 2021:
Conventions of Communist Party of India were held successfully at Bishnupur and Thoubal districts today.
Speaking at the convention held at Kakching, Dr M Nara Singh said it is high time the public gave more support and make the party more powerful to save the country, said a statement issued by Manipur State Council Communist Party of India (MSC CPI) .
Laishram Sotinkumar, secretary MSC CPI, at Bishnupur said that without improving the condition of the farmers, it would be impossible to bring about development in the country and the Government was sidelining the farmers and favouring the big corporates as seen in the recent Farm Bills, added the statement.
He further lamented the fact that Bishnupur is lacking behind other districts in terms of development in various sectors.
He alleged that the development work of the district has not been taken up in full swing despite having the popular tourist site 'Loktak Lake', as the funds meant for development work has been embezzled by the kith and kins of the people in power.
The statement further added that MSC CPI demanded construction of cold storage at various localities, improvement of irrigation facilities and completion of Loktak Downstream Project at the convention held at Bishnupur.
