Wildlife Week observation concludes

A prize distribution ceremony for competitions- painting, quiz, debate which was held on October 1 in connection with the 63rd Wildlife Week observation was held at Loyola School, Bishnupur today.
The district level competitions were held under the aegis of Bishnupur Forest Division.
For the spot painting competition of Class V to VIII students, Vivek Laishram, Sridhan Yumkhaibam of St Xavier's School Moirang and Thoudam Robinson of Innovative Academy Bishnupur bagged first, second and third prizes.
In the quiz competition for Class IX to X, team Paradise Gardening School - Diana Oinam and N Khelchandra bagged the first prize, while Oinam Girls' High School team comprising of Heikrujam Chandni Devi and Mutum Umabati Devi bagged second prize.
Joshini H and Melody Akoijam of Paradise Gardening School bagged the first and second prizes for the debating competition Class XI-XII.
Consolation prizes were also given to the participants.
The prizes carry cash awards, shirts and caps.
Three persons - Sagolshem Bankimchandra, Leimapokpam Thaba Leima and Nepram Hemlet were honoured with cash awards for their contributions towards saving wildlife by the Forest Department.
The programme organised by the Bishnupur Forest Division in association with Pole Star Guardian Association Thinungei, Global Science Club Khoijuman, Toubul Youths' Development Association and Loyola School was attended by Additional Principal Chief Conservator of Forest, TP-II, Government of Manipur S Dhananjoy Singh, Conservator of Forest South Circle Khan Suanmung Tanning, SP Bishnupur Hopson Sapam, Chairman Technical Committee, Manipur State Wetland Authority Dr Kh Shamungou, Father Loyola School Bishnupur Cyprian Lobo and Wildlife warden Bishnupur RK Birjit Singh as presidium members.
