150 more MU students surrender ID cards

Spearheaded by the JAC Against Implementation of State Reservation Policy in Admission in Manipur University, 150 students of the university surrendered their identity cards today.
The students surrendered their identity cards after taking out a protest rally.
Speaking to media persons, JAC co-convenor Saratchandra Haobijam said that some of them met Prof Amar Yumnam who has taken over the charge of Vice Chancellor.

JAC that a joint meeting of Heads of Departments and Deans would be held tomorrow at 11 am on the reservation issue.
JAC would decide its future course of action after studying whatever decisions adopted at the meeting scheduled tomorrow, Saratchandra said.
Notably, the JAC earlier announced that the ongoing relay hunger strike would be replaced by indefinite hunger strike.
On the other hand, the JAC has submitted a memorandum to the Manipur University Teachers' Association (MUTA).
MUTA too assured that they would urge the MU authority to enforce the decisions adopted by the Academic Council.
Altogether 483 students surrendered their identity cards yesterday saying that they would like to resign from the studentship of MU.
