WAD urges for women safety

Women Action for Development (WAD) has urged the Centre, State Government, State Commission for Women, NationalWomen Commission, Manipur State Commission for Protection of Child rights, National Women Commission and National Human Rights Commission for their urgent intervention over crimes against women and children of Manipur.
The recent bomb blast at Tangkhul Avenue had injured three women while two minor girls were sexually exploited in Churachandpur district and another three school going girls in Churachandpur district who were about to be kidnapped by an auto driver sustained injuries while escaping.
On October 13, a 45-year old lady from Churachandpur was brutally assaulted by a person who is believed to be a cadre of an insurgent group operating in the area.
On October 5, one Yumnam Roji of Waikhong was murdered and dumped in a pond.
Stating the crimes against women and minor girls are increasing in Manipur.
WAD said that immediate action should to taken up against the culpritsa and added that cecessary measures should be also initiated in order ensure safety of women and children.
