Individual discontents should not create problems to public: CM

Chief Minister N Biren Singh said that private/individual discontents should not create problems to the public of the State.
This was stated by him at the inaugural function of the Edible Oil and Refinery Plant, Rice Milling Plant and Mushroom Cultivation with Research and Development Unit of Salai Agro Private Unit at Lairenkabi Maning Leikai, Imphal West today.
Speaking as chief guest of the function, the Chief Minister said that Manipur is a unique place in terms of its climate, weather, food, culture etc and there is no other place like Manipur in the planet.
However, frequent bandhs and blockades affect the State's economy.
Such bandhs and blockades also affect the tourist visiting the State, he added.
Mentioning that the Government is working towards the welfare of the people, N Biren said that the Government has initiated various people centric schemes/ mission such as CMHT, Go to Village, Go to Hills for better governance.
Government is for the people of the State.
Its purpose is to give smiles on the faces of the people, he added.
The Government welcomes constructive and positive criticism for the development of the State, he added.
"It is indeed encouraging to hear that the Salai Private Limited is providing employment to more than 1,500 people directly and thousand others indirectly," he said.
"We need to strengthen the private sector so as to counter the effects of globalisation in the State.
Many lessons can be learned from Salai," he added.
He encouraged the people of the State to become job providers and not job seekers.
We need to maintain work culture for development of the State and gave his best wishes to the Salai group in their future endeavours.
Stating the benefits of organic farming, he encouraged the farmers to adopt organic farming and avoid use of chemicals, fertilizers which are harmful to health and prevent diseases associated with such chemicals.
Chairman Manipur Tourism Corporation Ltd Dr Sapam Ranjan, MLA Sekmai AC H Dingo, Managing Director and Chairman of Salai Holdings Private Limited Ng Samarjit and others attended the function.
