Imphal, June 03 2012:
There shouldn't be any misunderstanding between BJP and the six students' organizations in Manipur over Richard murder case.
Instead there should be mutual co-operation in seeking justice for Richard, President in-charge of BJP, Manipur Pradesh Salam Ibohal has stated.
Addressing a press conference at the Nityapat Chuthek party office here today, Ibohal said that it was BJP North East Samprak Cell which had taken the leading role in going to Karnataka first to get necessary report and then consulted National leaders to bring up the issue of Richard Loitam in Rajya Sabha and Lok Sabha apart from pressing for handing over the case to CBI.
State Unit BJP President Shantikumar has been in Karnataka since March 21 and he would not be coming back until resolution of the case, Ibohal added.
He further said that BJP understands dissatisfaction of the student organizations over the progress of the case and it has been trying its level best to see that justice is done.
ON the contrary, it is the Government of Manipur which has been remaining silent for over issue.
Although, a team led by SP Dhanakumar, IPS had been dispatched to Karnataka to aid in the investigation, nothing has come out of it.
Vice President of BJP State unit Prof S Tiken, who was also present during the press conference, reacted strongly to the remarks of senior MPP leader O.Joy who said that 'BJP came disguised as Ram but has started acting like Ravan in North East States and trying to swallow up other smaller political parties", and asserted that such remarks have no basis.
NCP, MPP and BJP are in good term and even form a pre-poll alliance to take on the Congress party.
So, the remark of O.Joy was unfortunate, and one should think over before making such remarks, he added.
