Imphal, October 06:
Observing that the Pallel-Chandel road has deteriorated to the worst condition that transporters have been constrained to suspend passenger service, the Anal Naga Union (ANTA) has pledged support to the ongoing suspension of transport service stir being undertaken by the transporters along the road.
A statement issued by ANTA noted that every right thinking citizen of the State ought to lend their support to such a stir.
It also mentioned that Rs 24 crores was sanctioned this year for improvement/construction of the road under Central Additional Assistance.
However, the road development work was abruptly put to a halt for reasons best known to the State Government thereby negating the long cherished dream of the people.
While declaring that ANTA would extend the warmest welcome to the proposed visit of the Chief Minister if he comes by road, it disclosed that they would boycott the CM's visit if he chooses to travel by helicopter.
