Imphal, June 29 2013 :
Appealing the people for a consistent movement until ILP System is implemented in the State, Joint Committee on Inner Line Permit System (JCILPS) said the Government stayed idle after taking the first resolution in the Assembly for implementation of the same.
In its statement, JCILPS appreciated its Students' Wing for bravely participating in the movement to storm the Assembly complex.
However, the action taken by the police against the uniform wearing students is an immature one.
The people of the State know that the recent second resolution taken in the Assembly without any policy to implement the ILPS is to only suppress the people's movement.
The arrival of railway in the State which will help in the flow of non locals here should be unwelcomed by the people, it stressed.
"What is the use of MP Election when the Centre turned deaf ears to our slogans 'save us', 'we are going to go extinct from the planet' etc?", the release asked and added that the time has come for the political parties to work with all their might knowing the interest of the people.
It then advised to stay alert against the negative elements that tried to mislead the movement.
JCILPS expressed regret about the bomb attack to non locals by unknown persons, and shared the grief of the bereaved family.
It beleives that non violence cannot control the flow of non locals in the State.
It should be recalled that when the armed underground outfit of Tripura killed many non locals, a defence force was formed with the help of Indian Govt equipting the non locals with arms to fight the UG outfit and so the increasing flow of non locals was unable to control.
Therefore, the ILP system which is under the Indian rules and implemented in Nagaland, Mizoram and Arunachal Pradesh is the immediate means to safeguard the indigenous people, the release asserted.
