CS checks attendance at entrance of Old Sect

As apart of the new Govt's initiative to ensure timely arrival of Govt employees at their offices, Chief Secretary O Nabakishore stationed himself at the entrance gate of Old Secretariat today and made a note of employees who arrived late.
The Chief Secretary stationed himself at the gate from 9.30 am to 11 am, and instructed all employees of the State Secretariat including senior officers to come to office on time.
He also instructed employees to register themselves in the biometric attendance system.
However, examination of the biometric attendance system installed at the Secretariat revealed that some employees were not attending office.
The Government would start deducting money from the salaries of employees after counting the number of days they were absent from office, informed a source.
In order to facilitate direct monitoring of office attendance by the Chief Minister and the Chief Secretary, 100 CCTV cameras have been installed at the Old Secretariat, New Secretariat and the Ministers' Block.
Notably, the Chief Secretary has instructed all heads of departments to introduce biometric attendance system for all employees and also to ensure that employees reach their office on time.
