Chandel DC tours remote villages, extends assistance

Chandel, September 12 2014 :
Deputy Commissioner of Chandel, Robert Singh Kshetrimayum after holding his post of district administration, led a team of district officials' and the representatives of the Chandel based CSO under the aegis of CNPO to remote villages of Sulam area in Chandel district today.
The Chandel DC was accompanied by Chandel SDO Killu Siva Kumar Naidu, district medical staff led by CMO Dr N Birchandra Singh, Project Officer of DRDA Stephen and DPM, SSA Chandel Sh Mosaingam.
Presidents and Executives of CNPO led by Ws Kanral Anal, Presidents and Executives of ANTA, SUR, LNKK, area chiefs, students leaders and special contractor HL Lovingson were also among the other important leaders in the team.
A free medical camp under District Medical Mobile Unit/DDMU, NHM, Chandel district organized by the District Health Society Chandel and awareness session of women Self Help Group on observation of Anti Malaria Month under National Vector borne Diseases Control Society were also conducted at Challong village.
During the camp, besides Retro Virus Screening and ultrasound, medicines for malaria, typhoid, dysentery and other ailmets were also distributed.
DACO & District Surveilence Officer Chandel Dr Kesho S Moirangthem, Medical Officer/ District Hospital Chandel Dr Y Nando Singh, HB Kobor were assisted by their medical staff.
Taking the Tengnoupal New Samtal Road from 0 point at Chamol, Chandel DC stopped over at Larong Khunou village.
The DC, on the request of the village chief, also assured Larong khunou for completion of their Community Hall and water supply scheme in the village.
Mosquito nets for expecting mothers from poor families were also handed to by the Chief.
The DC was also given a warm welcome at Darchol Village where village authorities presented a cock to the DC and other officials as a token of appreciation by the village.
Vomku villagers too welcoming the DC on the way had a short interaction session during which the Project Officer of DRDA Stephen and DPM SSA Chandel Sh Mosaingam took note of the proposal.
On reaching the landslide affected Challong village, a reception service was organized by the villagers for the DC before setting off to inspect the area, primary school buildings and the free medical camp.
A memorandum seeking assistance from the district administration towards shifting of Challong village to a new site was submitted to the DC.
Village chiefs and public leaders who spoke on the occasion expressed confidence that the DC would bring better development in the district.
CNPO President Ws Kanral in his speech remarked that it was the first time in the history of Chandel District where a DC went to the farthest remote village of the district with CSO representatives.
