Imphal, April 11 2011:
Chakanlong (Charoichagotlong) Peidai has complaint against the alleged illegal laying of Vodafone cable and BSNL cable without the knowledge of land owners and prior permission of Chakanlong villagers and Peidai.
In a complaint lodged with the Manager of Imfratel Site Acquisition Head through Bharati Imfratel Ltd, Site Acquisition Executive, Babupara, Imphal, Peidai chairman Kaphunsin Kamei and Peidai secretary Baorei Kamson remined that they have already expressed their opposition to illegal construction of Airtel towers and laying of cables including that of Vodafone.
However, it has been learnt that BSNL and Vodafone mobile network operators have been extending their services through attaching with Airtel towers.
Although, the villagers welcome extension of various mobile networks in their area, prior permission of the land owners and Peidai should have been sought before installation of any networks.
Moreover, it has been learnt that Airtel which has made an agreement with the villagers (Peidai) of Chakanlong has been extending contract with the Vodafone and BSNL and collecting revenue and rent from those companies in connivance with some vested interested parties, the Peidai alleged, while asking Vodafone, BSNL or any other company to come and report to the Chakalong Peidai in this regard at the earliest.
