National seminar starts

A two-day National seminar which aims at producing more number of women scientists from the North East States was kick started at Imphal College today.
Manipur State Women Development Corporation Chairperson AK Mirabai and Education (U) Joint Director Dr RK Yaiskul were the chief guest and president of the opening function of the seminar organised by Imphal College and GP Women's College under the aegis of UGC.
In her keynote address, Pukhrambam Grihanjali of Imphal College Chemistry Department said that science has become a need of our day-to-day lives.
However, choosing scientist as a career by women in the North East States is too low.
The seminar would find out the problems which hamper women in becoming scientists.
The seminar would also find out the number of women research scholars in science.
It would also encourage women in participation in science in higher education.
44 resource persons will speak on different topics in the seminar being taken part by 160 delegates from different Universities of NE States.
