District hospital authority warned

Bishnupur, July 09 2017:
Representatives of all wards of Bishnupur Municipal area along with the denizens, in a meeting, resolved to take befitting action against doctors, medical practitioners and the authority of Bishnupur district hospital if they continue to neglect the plight of the patients .
A press release issued by general secretary of Citizens Development Forum stated that several issues were deliberated .
Problems regarding the pathetic condition of the Gynaecology department of the hospital, long queues for patients from far off villages who were made to wait for hours even after the processing of OPD tickets in the morning and neglecting of duties by the staff were some of the issues that were highlighted in the meeting .
The meeting decided to address these issues to the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare and the State Government in order to initiate actions to improve the condition of the hospital .
Apart from hospital problems, the meeting demanded the removal of Mountain Brigade (Loktak) which is presently stationed at Loukoipat adjacent to the hospital .
The press release further stated the that army personnel has set up perimeter for firing range at an areas which is less than 500 metres away from the hospital leading to many inconveniences for the patients .
Women vendors who attended the meeting brought forward the problem of eviction notice which was issued on June 21 .
They urged the concerned authority to relax the time of dismantling the market shed at least by a month and pleaded that the current flood situation has caused them immense hardship in building their own market shed .
It can be recalled that the vendors had set up a temporary market shed after the earthquake of January 4 .
