Observance of Wildlife Week continues

The ongoing 66th Wildlife Week which is observed across the country from October 2 to 8, was also jointly observed by Kakching Range Office and Sarik Lairembi JFMC at the Sarik Community Hall, today.
The programme was attended by N Munal Meitei, Range Forest Officer, Kakching, M Open Singh, Honorary Wildlife Warden, Thoubal and other dignitaries as presidium members.
Speaking on the occasion, N Munal Meitei gave a brief account of Wildlife Week which was first observed in 1954.In observance of the 66th Wildlife Week on the theme "Exploring human-animals relationship', N Munal Meitei urged the people to endorse the theme and save and protect wildlife.
He also appealed people to be more affectionate and caring towards wildlife.
After the programme, a drive to recover and seize bird traps was also conducted at Pumlen Pat.
