Senior Citizens for Society (SCS) has vehemently condemned the 'inhumane' and 'meaningless acts' of bomb blast at public places causing death and injury to innocent public while fervently appealing to the unknown perpetrators of the crime to deeply introspect before committing such inhuman and meaningless acts of violence which does no good than harm to anyone including themselves.
The SCS, Manipur, during a Core Committee meeting held on Oct 31 expressed its deep concern at the ever increasing incidents of bomb blasts in Imphal area during the last two months which caused death and injury to the innocent citizens and untold miseries to the families of the victims and also created fear psychosis in the minds of the public, said a statement issued by the general secretary of SCS, L Sadananda.
While appreciating the Govt's declaration of ex-gratia of Rs 5 lakh to the next of kins of the three persons killed in the Yaiskul blast, Rs 50000 and Rs 20000 to the injured victims, the SCS expressed its serious concern at the big intelligence deficit of the State force as admitted by the DGP.
It appealed to the State Govt to leave no stone unturned to make up the said deficit and do the needful to ensure security of life and property of the citizens.
The SCS further expressed deep sense of shock and sorrow at the sad demise of the three innocent van drivers while sharing the sorrows of the bereaved families.
