Later, the Hog Badger was handed over to Manipur Zoological Garden.
According to environmentalist Dr Kh Shamungou, Hog Badger is a very rare animal in Manipur and they are generally found in the hills in high altitude.
It is advisable to find out how the Hog Badger was found near a wetland.
Whether it was because of human pressure or shortage of food or climate change needs to be ascertained, Dr Shamungou added.
