Appointment slur on Family Welfare

Imphal, March 01 2013:
Allegations of wrongdoings have been raised against the appointment of Dr O Ibomcha Singh as the Director-in-charge of Family Welfare Services, an order for which has been issued dated February 28 .
Talking to The Sangai Express a reliable source said that the appointment of Dr O Ibomcha as the Director-in-charge of Family Welfare Services was effected by referring to two totally unrelated Court cases.
The appointment order read as 'This is subject to the outcome of the direction of the Honourable High Court in WP (C) No.58 of 2012 and WP (C) No.59 of 2012" .
The two cases mentioned have nothing to do with Dr O Ibomcha, said the source and added that the said official is yet to be confirmed as a Grade-I official of the Manipur Health Services.
The source said that the appointment of Dr O Ibomcha as the Director-in-charge of Family Welfare Services is against the letter and spirit of the observation of the Gauhati High Court passed in WP (C) 3094/2012, a case filed in connection with the manner in which doctors from the Manipur Health Services and Family Welfare Services were recruited for the National Rural Health Mission.
