Imphal, May 22 2021:
The International Peace and Social Advancement (IPSA) has urged the State Government to revise the order directing individuals and organisations to donate medical oxygen cylinders and concentrators through the Government or healthcare institute concerned.
In a statement, IPSA said that issuing such an order which has the tendency to discourage people who want to contribute to the State's fight against the pandemic is not suitable in the present time.
It also urged the Government to announce the list of authorised oxygen cylinder and concentrator suppliers in the State for the convenience of the people, stating that checking whether the dealers are authorised or unauthorised is not feasible at the time of emergency.
The Government should look into the non-acceptance of OPD and non-Covid patients at certain hospitals.
IPSA, on the other hand, lauded healthcare workers, police, sanitization workers, journalists and people working in the frontline for their role in this pandemic.
Now is not the time to play blame games but fight this dreaded disease as one, said IPSA, adding that the Government should encourage the individuals and organisations coming out to help the sick and poor.
The association also prayed for those who have succumbed to COVID-19 .
