Kuki chiefs demand DPC for recruting anganwadi teachers

The Kuki Chiefs' Association (KCA), 42 Tengnoupal Assembly Constituency has demanded a DPC for recruiting Anganwadi workers and helpers of newly opened ICDS/Anganwadi Centres in Chandel district.
In a statement issued by its president Thangbul Haokip and secretary Senpu Haokip, the Chiefs' Association stated that DPC for appointing staff of newly opened ICDS/Anganwadi Centres and Mini Anganwadi Centres has been conducted in other districts of the State and accordingly, appointment orders have already been issued.
However, such DPC was not conducted for the newly opened centres of Chandel district till date by the authority concerned despite the order of the Social Welfare Director Order No.5/65/2007-S(SW) ICDS-Pt.
dated Imphal the 28th July, 2014, said the statement.
While appealing to the authority/department concerned to conduct the said DPC at the earliest, the Chiefs' Association also warned that they would carry out different form of agitations with the support of the people of the district, if the authority concerned fail to fulfill its demands on or before November 30, 2014, stated the statement.
It is worth mentioning that the Director of Social Welfare, Government of Manipur had issued an order on July 28 to all the District Programme Officers, ICDS to take up necessary action for recruitment of Anganwadi Workers/Helpers and Mini Anganwadi Workers.
Meanwhile, KCA, Moreh Block in a seperate statement condemned the attack on the Assam rifles convoy near New Shijang village on November 17 by unidentified individual (s) .
Though no casualties were inflicted, the incident has caused fear among the people.
KCA Moreh Block appealed to the miscreants concerned not to repeat such acts in future.
