CPI worker abandons home fearing reprisal

An entire family of a CPI worker in Henglep AC who was reportedly threatens by the son a village chief on the evening of the re-poll today took refuge at their paternal home leaving behind their home fearing reprisal.
Lamminthang, a resident of Songdoh village under Phuoljang polling station claimed that he had left his home along with his family and all his belongings as he fear the youngest son of the village chief who had threatened him on the re-poll day would assault him or any member of his family anytime now.
The chief's son identified as Lamkhopao reportedly threatened the CPI worker as the later refused to swing on his diktat.
CPI candidate of Henglep AC Genlunthang has lodge a formal complaint inviting action against the perpetrator to the Returning Officer.
He also visited Lamminthang at his paternal home later in the day.
