Training on mental retardation begins

A two-day training programme on mental retardation for teachers, parents and school students was held today at Counting Hall of DC Office Thoubal.
The programme was organised by the National Institute for the Mentally Handicapped, Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, Govt of India in collaboration with District Administration Thoubal.
Thoubal DC T Ranjit Singh and Binapani Mohapatra, Head of Department, Rehabilitation Psychology, National Institute for the Mentally Handicapped, Secunderabad were the chief guest and president of the inaugural function while NG Pamiyaphy, Faculty in Rehabilitation Psychology also attended the function as the guest of honour.
20 Special Teachers and 12 Care Givers of SSA, 4 Multipurpose Rehabilitation workers and 50 Regular School teachers and 80 High School students participated in the training programme.
