Lady physiotherapist succumbs to COVID-19

Manipur has lost many personalities as the second wave of COVID-19 continued to wreak havoc and sadly Ranjita Khumanthem became the first physiotherapist in the State to die off COVID-19 this morning at around 4 am .
The 37 year old Ranjita from Khurai Puthiba was receiving treatment at Raj Medicity, North AOC since May 16 after being diagnosed with COVID-19.She passed away this morning at the same hospital reportedly due to cardiopulmonary arrest following 'Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome (ARDS)' .
She worked as a physiotherapist at Arbri Special Child Development Centre, Uripok Bachaspati Leikai.
On request of the family members, the body of the deceased was cremated today by Imphal East District Administration through Imphal Municipal Corporation with observation of all formalities.
Sadly, the mother of the lady physiotherapist had too passed away due to COVID-19 a few days back.
It is also reported that Ranjita's only son is also undergoing Covid treatment.
The All Manipur Physio Therapist Association has expressed shock and sadness on her demise.
"Her demise is a great loss to our profession.
May her soul rest in peace," wrote the association on its official Facebook page.
