Many CSOs condemn vandalism at Wakf Board office, demand punishment

Different organisations have condemned the vandalising/ransacking of State Wakf Board office at Minuthong, Hafiz Hatta.
With condemnations pouring in from Manipur Muslim Welfare Organisation (MMWO), All Manipur Pangal Farmers Development Organisation, (AMPFDO) and Lilong Political Unified Link (LIPUL), the CSOs, have demanded the authorities concerned to take up necessary actions against the culprit involved.
Speaking to media persons at MMWO office in Hafiz Hatta on behalf of the three organisations, MMWO general secretary Md Aminuddin Moijingcha termed the act of vandalising the office, allegedly by some members of Minuthong Hatta Social Welfare Union on December 15 at around 10.30 am, as barbaric.
He alleged that the members of Minuthong Hatta Social Welfare Union threatened the staff of Wakf Board and vandalised soirlfc properties of the office.
The MMWO general secretary further alleged that the said members of Minuthong Hatta Social Welfare Union also rushed to the girls hostel next to the Wakf Board office and raised their voice apart from using foul languages as well.
Condemning the actions, he warned that the organisations will not remain a mere spectator regarding the matter.
Stating that the negligence of the authorities concerned to take up any actions after one of the office under the State Government and also a religious place, was attacked, is rather unfortunate.
He further demanded the State Government to take prompt actions and serve punishment to the culprits at the earliest.
On the other hand, Muslim CSOs of the State have also condemned the recent attack at the officeof Manipur Wakf Board and use of vulgar words to the hostellers of Muslim Girl's Hostel, Hafiz Hatta Minuthong on December 15 allegedly by the members of Minuthong Hafiz Hatta Welfare Union.
During a press meet held at Manipur Press Club, this evening, Human Rights Council Manipur secretary, Advocate Rabi Khan urged the State Government to take up necessary steps as per the law of the land and arrest all culprits, who were involved in the incidents, at the earliest.
Claiming that the recent attack was carried out to destabilize the functioning of Manipur Wakf Board, he added that the rights of OBC.
Meitei Pangals are only for Meitei Pangals and the State Government should take the matter seriously.
Rabi Khan further maintained that the initiative of the State Government to build a market place at Minuthung Hatta area under the funding of Central Government is welcomed by the board.
The press meet was also attended by the leaders of All Manipur Muslim Organisations Co-Ordinating Committee (AMMOCOC), All Manipur Muslim Students Organisation (AMMSO), All Manipur Muslim Development Organisation, Popular Front of India Manipur State (PFI) and United Manipur Muslim Women Development Organization (UMMWDO) among others.
