Two PLA men held with explosives

Imphal, May 11 2011:
Imphal West District Police Commandos have arrested two activists of the proscribed RPF/PLA and recovered 2.2 kilograms of explosive materials from their possession during a search operation conducted last night.
Parading the arrested PLA activists identified as Moirangthem Bheigya alias Chaoba (55) of Kwakeithel Laishram Leikai and Potsangbam Brojen alias Koba (50) of Kwakeithel Moirangpurel Leikai before media persons at Commando complex here today, Additional SP (Ops) of Imphal West Dr AK Jhaljit informed that the duo were arrested during a massive search operation conducted in and around Kwakeithel area at around 10 pm yesterday.
Apart from 2.2 kg of TNT (Trinitrotoluene), one 9 mm pistol, one magazine, 25 live rounds, three Chinese hand grenades with two detonators, one electric detonator, one wireless set, one mobile hand set, an identity card of Electricity Department issued in the name of one A Chaoba and a Tourist Accreditation Card were recovered from the possession of the arrested persons reportedly working under the command of one self styled sergeant Robertson of RPF/PLA, the police officer disclosed.

The items seized from them were handed over to Bheigya by Robertson for triggering explosion and carrying out other subversive acts, the police officer said, adding that Robertson is in contact with leaders of the armed group including Sanangou, Prabin, Loya, Boli, Krishna and Ranbir who are hiding in Myanmar and Guwahati.
The ASP (Ops) further disclosed that Bheigya was involved in transportation of a large amount of money from one place to another which are meant for the maintenance of frontal organisations of the armed outfit.
On the other hand, a combined team of Imphal West Police Commandos and personnel of 116th BSF recovered four High Explosive Hand Grenades and one Chinese hand grenade from Kodompokpi area in continued operation at around 10.30 pm yesterday, the ASP (Ops) informed.
The hand grenades have been recovered from the residence of one Taorem Manglemchandra (23) at Kodompokpi Maning Leikai at the disclosure of his wife Kenika Devi (18), the police officer added.
