Committee visits Kangpokpi

Kangpokpi, June 05 2020:
The Joint Committee for Public Awareness on COVID-19 constituted with representatives from various civil society organizations in the State visited Kangpokpi and interacted with the people mainly on community participation in the fight against the pandemic COVID-19 .
The interaction programme was hosted by Kuki Inpi Kangpokpi district at the office of KSO Sadar Hills in the presence of DM/DC Kangpokpi, ADM/ADC Kangpokpi, Addl SP Kangpokpi, which was participated by Kuki Inpi Kangpokpi District, Kangpokpi Town Committee KSO Sadar Hills, KWU Sadar Hills, KWWO, KYU and other CSOs leaders.
The Joint Committee on COVID-19 led by Khaimang Chongloi, president KIM, who is also a member of the Joint Committee, include Th Satyabratra Singh, MLA Yaiskul AC (Convenor), K Robindro Singh, Deputy Speaker (Co-Convenor), H Dingko Singh, MLA Sekmai AC, Sunil Karam, president UCM (Member), Jeetendra Ningombam, president CCSK (Member) and other members.
During the interaction programme, various grievances were put up by the civil society organizations while the committee highlighted various laudable voluntary service rendered by the community in the fight against the pandemic COVID-19 apart from the District Administration, Medical Department and other frontline workers.
During the visit, It was resolved that coordination of the District Administration and civil society organizations should be strengthened and additional security personnel should be provided by the State Government urgently and water tanker should be sanctioned through SP Kangpokpi.
Meanwhile, the Joint Committee and the CSOs leaders also visited the District screening centres, COVID Emergency Food Kiosk, centralized catering centre at Motbung and highly appreciated the voluntary roles and humanitarian service of the community.
