3 boys on way to join UG group intercepted

Three boys who had left their homes with the purported intention to join an insurgent group have been intercepted and handed over to their respective families by a combined team of Ukhrul District Police and Assam Rifles.
A police team led by Litan PS OC Inspector Stanley Keishing and troops of 17 AR intercepted the boys at TM Kasom village as they were travelling in a vehicle at around 8.40 pm yesterday, informed a source.
All the three boys are studying in a private school located at Yaingangpokpi and they belong to different villages of Ukhrul and Kamjong districts.
While two other are aged around 15 years, the other is just 13 years old, said the source.
They left their respective Yaingangpokpi residence on August 31 and they could not be traced since then until they were intercepted yesterday.
On receiving information that three boys were loitering at Imphal and they were about to go to Ukhrul, police and AR troops halted and verified people travelling on Ukhrul-Imphal road.
Security forces found the three boys seated inside a Bolero Camper at around 8.40 pm yesterday.
They were immediately taken to Litan police station before they were handed over to their respective families, said the source.
The boys reportedly disclosed that they left their respective homes to join any insurgent group either at Ukhrul or Imphal, added the source.
