Kohima, September 21:
Dimapur district administration along with Assam Rifles, Sikh Regiment, IRB and civil police conducted flush out operations simultaneously against underground cadres at Thahekhu and Lhumthi Colony areas of Dimapur yesterday.
However, no arrest and seizure were made.
Official sources revealed that flush out operations would be conducted in different parts of Dimapur any anytime without giving any prior information.
Meanwhile, unidentified gunmen, suspected to be cadres of NSCN-K fired upon the residence of NSCN-IM joint secretary (Chaplee), Daniel Lotha at Duncan Basti, Dimapur yesterday afternoon.
According to reports some armed gunmen came in a Gypsy vehicle and a van and sprayed bullets upon Daniel's residence when his wife and children were in the kitchen.
Daniel reportedly escaped from the house.
Police recovered eight empty cases of AK-47, three of 7.65 and one 9mm empty case from the spot.
Meanwhile, the MIP/NSCN-IM in a release stated that while members of the Forum for Naga Reconciliation were having a serious meeting at 'Hebron' discussing the issue of reconciliation and unity, the Khaplang group was busy in Dimapur town attacking NSCN-IM members including Daniel.
"This unruly behaviour of the group is nothing unusual, such incident will never be condone with, as this is an open signal for confrontation with NSCN", the release stated.
