Bird watching trip flagged off

The District Forest officer, Bishnupur L Debala Devi flagged off a bird watching trip at Thinungei Patton, as a part of the 62nd Wild Life celebration week today .
The trip was organised for students from across the State , to study the migratory birds which arrive at Loktak lake during this time of every year .
A total of 30 students who were selected from different colleges and University participated in the trip organised by Bishnupur Forest Division and India Bird Conservation Network (IBCN) .
The trip was headed by Wildlife warden K Jugeshwor and divided into five groups .
Division Forest Officer, Bishnupur L Debala Devi, Honorary Wildlife warden K Jugeshwor Singh, India Bird Conservatory Network State coordinator RK Birjit Singh, Range officers, forest guards and wildlife activists were present at the flagging off function .
Prior to the trip, K Jugeshwor Singh thoroughly explained the aim and objective of the trip .
He stated that students will get to study and observe varieties of migratory birds as well as the native birds which arrive at Loktak lake.
RK Birjit stated that Loktak lake which was considered as one of the place where numerous birds arrive has been degraded enormously .
DFO Bishnupur L Debala stated that the trip will aware the students on how to protect the birds, study their habit etc and added that such trip will be continued if they get positive response from this trip.
