Food Safety supervisors training conducted

A 3 day Basic/Advanced/Special Training of Food Safety Supervisors ( Eat Right Campus and Hygiene Rating) began yesterday at CMO office, Imphal East.
Speaking about the training, Designated officer (Food Safety Administration) and nodal officer (Eat Right Challenge), Imphal East Th Sunilkumar said that hotel owners, shop owners and all those who are into making food items and catering business should be given training on food safety and only then be allowed into food production after acquiring the required license.
Regarding this Designated officer (Food Safety Administration) Imphal East has imparted many training in the interest of the public, he added.
He continued that one should be aware of the guidelines enlisted by Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) and after getting the approval from FSSAI, one should get into food production and selling of produced items to the public.
Centre has given strict directives to prohibit any outlets be it shop or hotel etc if no prior training on food safety has been received and one should focus on producing healthy food items, he added.
He also said that hygiene rating training are also conducted under Eat Right Challenge initiated by Indian Government and there are provisions of giving penalty against the defaulters of FSSAI guidelines.
Lastly he appealed to all the concerned to produce healthy and nutritious food items in the interest of the general public and if one has any doubts or concerns on food safety, one can contact the CMO Imphal East office, he added.
