Beneficiary to file suit against KVIC

Accusing the Khadi and Village Industries Commission (KVIC) of deceiving beneficiary of Prime Minister Employment Guarantee Programme (PMEGP), beneficiaries has decided to petition the Court against the KVIC.
Addressing the media at the Manipur Press Club, beneficiary of PMEGP Kundaleima Devi wife of (L) Soraisam Jiten of Lamsang Awang Leikai said she was at serial no 7 of the applicant for the PMEGP for the financial year 2011-12 in the embroidery trade.
However, she was placed at serial no 39 in the trade for interview.
She was selected.
Kundaleima said she was made to sign all relevant documents at the office of KVIC on September 15, 2011 to facilitate the drawing of Rs 4 lakh under the scheme.
A sum of Rs 4000 was also taken from her.
To her utter amazement, she could not find her name in the beneficiary list possessed by the concerned bank.
She approached the KVIC office to clear the matter.
But she could not find satisfactory response from the officials.
Kundaleima had also sought information using the RTI.
However, she did not get any response till now.
She said in order to find a concrete information, she has decided to file a court case with Chief Information Officer against the KVIC.
