Irabot day celebrated at various districts of the State

Bpr, Jiribam, Thbl, Kak, Tpl, September 30 2017: In connection with the observance of Irabot day across Manipur, Thoubal, Kakching and Jiribam district also observed the 121st birthday of Hijam Irabot at various areas of the districts .

Thoubal : Wangjing-Tentha Kendra Development Committee organised the celebration at the conference hall of Revival Foundation today .

The observation was attended by MLA of Wangjing-Tentha AC Paonam Brojen, elderly leaders of Wangjing-Tentha AC as dignitaries .

The observation was marked by offering and floral tributes paid to the photo of Irbaot .

The people who gathered to celebrate the day reminisced the life of Irabot, his sacrifice and contribution etc .

Meanwhile, Bamol Leikai Youth Club, Yairipok (BLYCY) also observed the day at Bamol Leikai community hall with various mini programmes, to mark the occasion .

Media advisor, Manipur Health Services as well as Naharolgee Thoudang editor Khoirom Loyalakpa, BYCY president Khomdram Prafullo, Yairipok Thambalnu Sahitya Marup cum Library president Raghubir Thiyam, BYCY former president Keisham Gunamani, Department of Physical Education, Manipur University advisor Takhellambam Pishak, HOD, Sports Science Dr Laishram Thambal, Yairipok Municipal Council former chairperson Keisham Rupachandra and Hangoibam Gokul Sharma of Yairipok Oil pump attended the occasion as dignitaries .

The dignitaries paid floral tributes to the photo of Hijam Irabot .

Speaking at the event, Raghubir elaborated the life story of Hijam Irabot to the people .

Loyalakpa stated that Irabot was a pioneer, a journalist and a leader who stood up for farmers, women, children and the public at large .

12 highest mark holders in BOSEM, COHSEM and CBSE residing under BYCY were also awarded during a felicitation function which was organised as a part of the observation .

On the other hand, Vision Creative School of Science Alumni Association, Thoubal conducted social service in and around thoubal Bazar to mark the celebration of Irabot day .

Yairipok Kekru Yairi Club also carried out a cleanliness drive in and around the areas covered by the club .

Kakching : The 121st birthday of Hijam Irabot was also celebrated by Jana Neta Irabot Ningshing Lup, Kakching at Irabot park, Kakching Bazar .

The ceremony was attended by Kakching Municipal Council chairperson Naorem Sanjitkumar Singh as chief guest, Kha Manipur College, Kakching Principal Y Mangoljao Singh as president, Representative of Lois, Kakching president Dr Thokchom Ojit Singh, Civil Judge, Senior Division, Imphal East Y Somorjit Singh, Image TV, Kakching editor Uttamkumar Naorem, Kakching Bazar Business Welfare Association, Kakching president M Shanta Singh as guests of honour .

Floral tributes and offering were paid to the bust of Hijam Irabot which is erected at the park .

Macha Chanu, Kakching president Dr Nongmaithem Pramodini Devi spoke at the occasion .

Jiribam : Numerous people and patrons visited the bust erected at Jiribam and paid floral tributes .

Speaking to media persons, former president of Jana Neta Irabot Memorial Trust expressed the desire to observe the leader’s birthday every year without fail .

One Ch Priyokumar Singh stated that people of Jiriabm district conducts social service and assist in cleaning the bust with the help of fire service .

The Jiribam electricity department also extended assistance in lighting up the premises, he added .

Meanwhile, the day was also observed in different schools of Jiribam district .

Manipur Loumee Lup Jiribam Area Committee also celebrated the birthday of Hijam Irabot at the training hall of Inunganbi Manipuri Dance Academy, Dibong.

Manipur Loumee Lup Jiribam Area Committee, jiribam president K Khumanjao, vice president Th Kumbha Luwang and Agriculture Department EO N Damudhor Singh attended the celebration as dignitaries .

Varieties of dal, including Arhar and Moong along with sugar and dried tea leaves were distributed to farmers, as a part of the celebration .

Bishnupur : Irabot Celebration Committee, Oinam celebrated the 121st birthday of Hijam Irabot at Oinam Mamang Leikai .

After paying floral tributes to the photo of Lamyanba Irabot, a boat race (Hiyang Kumhei) was also organised at Oinam river.

Different wards under Oinam AC also conducted their respective cleanliness drive as an initiative to mark the day .

Ex-MLA Oinam AC Dr I Ibohalbi Singh, S Shambhunath Singh (MCS) of SAT , Takyelpat and chairperson of Oinam Municipal Council N Sanahal Devi, vice chairperson O Ratan Singh, secretary governing body Thambal Marik College, Oinam W Debit Singh, International Awardee Dr O Chaoba Singh and volleyball coach, Manipur police L Tiken Singh attended the function as dignitaries .

Meanwhile, Progressive Youth Association, also observed the day at Oinam Bazar and a district level Manipur GK written quiz competition was also organised .

Altogether 60 students from different schools of Bishnupur district took part in the quiz competition .

MLA of Oinam AC as well as chairman of MPCB and KVIB L Radhakishore Singh, secretary governing body, Royal Academy of Law oinam o Ibochouba Khuman, retired lecturer of L Sanoi College N Saratchandra Singh, Principal of Comprehensive School, Oinam L Bijoy Singh, Assistant teacher and lyricist of AIR, Imphal Th Swarankumar Singh and social scientist Dr Dhanabir Laishram attended the celebration as presidium members .

Moreh : The birthday of Hijam irabot was celebrated by Irabot Celebration Committee, Moreh at Ima Kondong Lairembi Haoraobung.

Poetry recital, cultural dance and music were presented by students of Eastern Shine School, Moreh .

Moreh Municipal Council president M Thoiba, ACODOM president RK Sanayaima, MMCM president md Hussain, Tamil Sangam joint secretary Mohan, KNANL secretary Bina, NKCLL, Moreh president Th Jamuna, MWDS, Moreh president Meherani Begum, MWDA president Jubeda Begum were seated on the dais as dignitaries .

Toppers and winners of a painting competition organised by the committee was also distributed during the function .

In view of the social services conducted by five localities of Moreh, the committee also presented a simple gift to the each of the locality.
