A combined team of Imphal East Police Commandos and 32 Assam Rifles apprehended two activists of the proscribed KYKL from JN Hospital area during frisking and checking operation at around 11 am today.
Identifying the arrested KYKL activists as Shougaijam Gopimohan Singh alias Gopi (34) s/o S Chaoba and Thiyam Imocha alias Nandakumar (29) s/o late Th Rajeshwor, both residents of Naoremthong Khullem Leikai, Imphal East SP L Kailun informed that on spot verification, the arrested duo disclosed that they joined the outfit this year though of S/S PC Chaoba of KYKL.
The SP further informed that a team of Imphal East Police Commandos had also arrested one KCP activist during cordon and search operation at Napet Palli village at around 1 pm on November 17.On spot verification, the arrested KCP activist identified as Ningthoujam Kesho Singh alias Ibungomacha (26) s/o N Munal of Napet Village disclosed that he joined KCP through one Khelendro Singh alias Ngamba Mancha of the outfit, the SP said, adding that one mobile phone handset, Sumsung black in colour has been seized from the possession of the arrested activist.
On the other hand, SP of Imphal West District Clay Khongsai in a statement today informed that Imphal West District Police Commandos apprehended one RPF/PLA activist from his house at around 11.30 am yesterday.
Identifying the arrested RPF/PLA activist as Maisnam Sundaram Singh (41) s/o late M Babu Singh of Nambol Kongkham Awang Leikai, the SP informed that on preliminary interrogation, Sundaram disclosed that he joined the outfit in December 2004 through one Rozy Devi of RPF/PLA and he took work order for construction of Nambol L Sanoi Girls' Hostel under UGC programme as a part of collection of party fund under the command of Rozy Devi.
