One more death recorded to take tally to 377
Six flyers among 54 test positive in last 24 hours

Imphal, April 19 2021:
A slight dip from the high of 72 on April 18 with 54 cases detected on April 19, but one more death, taking the death tally to 377 .
This was how COVID-19 played out in Manipur on April 19 .
Even as the number of new cases saw a slight dip, the death tally increased with a 61 year old man (Imphal West) succumbing to the virus at Shija Hospital in the last 24 hours, said a statement issued by the Additional Director of Health Services and spokesperson of COVID-19 Common Control Room, Dr Khoirom Sasheekumar Mangang.
The death tally now stands at 377 .
Fifty four persons, all from the general population, tested positive for the virus in the last 24 hours, taking the cumulative number of positive cases to 29,775 (general population-26,289 and Central security personnel 3,486) .
The 54 were tested positive at JNIMS (16), RIMS (8), Shija Hospital (3), Maipakpi (3), Babina Diagnostics (16), Escent Diagnostics (5), Mangal (1), Hillside (1) and Thoubal (1) .
Of the 54 who tested positive in the last 24 hours six were from amongst returnees who returned by flight.
A total of 234 air passengers were tested today and out of them 6 were found positive.
In line with this, the COVID-19 Common Control Room has asked passengers who arrived by Air India flight AI-713 on April 15 and seated in rows 3 to 9 to contact the Common Covid Control Rooms or respective District Surveillance Officers immediately.
All necessary precautionary measures like containment and contact tracing are in place, added the statement.
On the other hand, 12 persons in total were discharged and this include 10 from home isolation, one CAPF and one from RD Wing.
The number of active cases as on April 19 is 296 including 255 from the general population and 41 Central security personnel.
With more and more positive cases emerging, the recovery rate has slightly dipped to 97.73 pc.
It was 97.87 pc on April 18 .
On the other hand, the total number of people who have got the vaccine jabs is 1,07100 and the Covid Common Control Room has urged all those above 45 years to get vaccinated immediately at RIMS, JNIMS, district hospitals, CHCs, PHCs and select private hospitals.
