Zeliangrong Citizens Forum defends Zeliangrong Baudi

Expressing shock over the statement of NSCN (I-M) Zeilad Region CAO questioning the legitimacy and motive of the Zeliangrong Baudi (AMN) for speaking up against its cadres’ recent atrocities on innocent villagers of Tamenglong district, Zeliangrong Citizens Forum (ZCF) Sunday defended Zeliangrong Baudi, asserting that the latter was the only apex organization of Zeliangrong people.
A statement issued by ZCF convenor Rangro Herie reminded the Zeilad Region CAO that the Zeliangrong people consensually resolved to change the nomenclature of Zeliangrong Union to Zeliangrong Baudi (Assam Manipur and Nagaland) during Zeliangrong general public convention held in Peren on 30 July, 2010.
While expressing concern over the recurring fratricidal violence in Khoupum valley, Tamenglong, ZCF lamented that instead of providing relief and help to aggrieved villagers and calling for restoration of peace in the conflict-ridden Zeliangrong area, the allegations of CAO questioning the integrity and legitimacy of the Baudi was “most unfortunate and condemnable”. It stated such allegation was parallel to adding insult to the injuries of the villagers.
ZCF further reminded the CAO that the 2010 general public convention of Peren was represented by Zeliangrong village representatives from Assam, Manipur and Nagaland, frontal organizations from Assam, Manipur and Nagaland, All Zeliangrong Students Union (AZSU-AMN), Zeliangrong Students Union Manipur, Zeliangrong Students Union Nagaland, state-wise Zeliangrong organizations, Zeliangrong Mipui Organisation, Zeliangrong Students Union Delhi and hundreds of Zeliangrong people and Zeliangrong...
