International institute of Peace and Development Studies (IIPDS) in cooperation with ARF – AMAN is organizing “Youth for Peace Training Workshop” scheduled 11-15 September, 2014 in Bangkok. The deadline for application submission is 5th August, 2014. Target groups of the workshop are Young leaders, scholars, teachers, post graduate students, NGO and social workers, and anyone else with a keen interest in peacebuilding creatively.
The Course aims to provide an understanding of peace and conflict. As a student/professional, participants will gain and build up the knowledge and skills in promoting peace. The course includes various sessions on relevant issues and exposure visit. The goal of the course is to create a new generation of young peacebuilders for peace, solidarity and sustainable development in Asia.
The objective of the course is to develop critical awareness among the youths about realities and challenges and engage them in social actions for peace, justice and development. It also aims to facilitate collective learning process about understanding of the causes of conflict, approaches and means to transform conflict and build sustainable peace and to strengthen “Youth for Peace Network” in Asia and beyond.
