This five-day workshop on typesetting with Latex software, is meant for teachers, research scholars, students and general public from all disciplines, who are interested to use typesetting with Latex on both windows and Linux operating systems.
Typesetting with Latex is particularly useful for typing books and thesis reports with complicated Greeks symbols, mathematical formulae and equations. This is particularly important for typing question papers and research articles related to mathematics and physics where a lot of Greeks and mathematical symbols are involved.
In short, Latex is a free and open source software which has today become the de-facto global standard for scientific publications and technical documentations.
The course of the Workshop includes the following sessions:
1. Tips for installation of Latex software (MikeTex/Texlive and Texmaker/TexStudio) on Windows/Linux/Mac on personal computers/Laptops.
2. Basic structure of a Latex document.
3. Introduction to Mathematical mode in Latex.
4. Incorporating tables and graphics in Latex.
5. Writing an academic document in Latex and indexing.
6. Making seminar presentation with slides using beamers/prosper in Latex.
7. Hands on practices
Interested applicants are required to submit a plain application along with a registration fee of Rs.1000.00 ( Rupees one thousand only) to the convener of the Workshop on or before January 31, 2020.
Time schedule of classes: 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. with lunch break:1 pm to 2 pm.
