5 Reasons Why You Should Turn off Your Vehicle's Ignition While in Traffic Jam
Huidrom Raju *
We all face traffic jams every now and then. No matter how much we hate it we still have to face it (not to mention it has become an everyday experience) and what we usually do is just keep our ignition on and wait for the signal to turn green.
But have you ever thought that if you turn off your ignition for a minute or two during the jam, you can contribute in helping the world become a better place?
Here are 5 reasons why you should turn off your ignition while stuck in a traffic jam:
1. It saves fuel for future generation. Remember there are a lot people sharing the same thought, when a million people do the same for 5 minutes everyday for a year it can save a lot of fuel which can be used by our children and grandchildren.
2. It will save you a considerable amount of money if it becomes habitual. Not only will it cut the cost on fuel but it will also give your vehicle some time to cool down and hence may cut a few bucks on maintenance.
3. Give the environment a break from your ever polluting vehicle. The emission from your vehicle pollutes the air and is also one of the reasons for the rising temperature on the planet.
4. It will reduce noise pollution even if it is only for a while (Provided you keep your hands off the horn as long as possible).
5. It will make you a responsible citizen and the planet needs more responsible citizens.
