Ref: 14/2014-11/PR
Imphal: MODIfied Northeast India welcomes Shri Narendra Modi’s Northeast tour of Assam, Manipur, Tripura and Nagaland to attend a wide range of programmes which would connect him to all sections of society.
Today is a historic day for the people of Meghalaya. The first train from Mendipathar in Meghalaya to Guwahati has been flagged off by the Hon'ble Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi.
Shri Narendra Modi, has expressed commitment to realize the potential of the North-East and to accelerate its progress. It is indeed the wise thought of the Prime Minister that India will not develop till the Northeast develops.
MODIfied Northeast India is expecting the “Achhe Din With NaMo” in the region and hopes for a good connectivity to be established across the eight states of the North-East, so that the entire region would prosper, particularly the tourism.
"Rich natural resources combined with talent of our youth gives our North-East the potential to play a key role in our development journey. India will not develop till the North-East develops," the Prime Minister said.
The Prime Minister also said that the whole world acknowledges that this century is Asia`s century. Therefore the need of the hour is to extend the "Look East" policy to an "Act East" policy, and to connect the entire region with Myanmar and countries beyond.
The Social Initiative to support Shri Narendra Modi is happy to know about the concern of the Prime Minister for a gas –grid in the region and facility for 24 hours of electricity which is needed for developing the region.
