First of all, this Daily takes the opportunity to extend a warm welcome to all the brothers and sisters from across the world, who have come over here to have a glimpse of our rich tradition, culture, flora and fauna.
We, in this Daily, wish all of you a safe and pleasant stay at Imphal during the infamous Sangai Festival beginning today.
During the 10-day event, you all will have the opportunity to enjoy the kaleidoscopic taste of the beautiful landscape including Loktak lake and Siroy hills, its precious dances like the Ras Lila, art forms like the Shumang Lila, traditional dances of various ethnic communities, martial arts and sports events like the Polo.
Manipur is known throughout the globe for its Sangai (Fauna), Siroy Lily (Flora), Polo or Sagol Kangjei (sports), Ras Lila (Dance), Meitei Pung (music), beautiful tribal folk dances, Thang-ta (Martial Arts) and so on and so forth.
During your brief stay in this tiny and hilly north eastern part of India, you all will surely understand that Manipur is composed of over 30 different ethnic communities speaking their own dialects, following their own traditions and beliefs.
