ULFA-NSCN(IM) tension behind Paresh unity remark

ULFA anti-talks factionas sudden diatribe against the NSCN (IM) leadership over the latteras refusal for a unification move among northeast militant outfits on Wednesday has found to be linked to a simmering tension between the two outfits in Nagaland.
Security sources said about a dozen heavily armed Ulfa cadres are now hounded by NSCN (IM) cadres inside Mon district in Nagaland, bordering Sivasagar district of the state, after they sneaked in from Myanmar a few days ago.
The two outfits do not see eye-to-eye and the prime reason is Ulfaas proximity with NSCN (IM)as rival NSCN (Khaplang). On the flip side, Ulfa cannot extend the hand of friendship to NSCN (IM) as that would mean attracting Khaplangas ire,a? a top security source said.
