UCM to wait & watch
Seven Sisters Post | Yumnam Rupachandra | Imphal (Oct 16):
“It is not something we can take very lightly and we will be watching the development keenly,” he added. Nabachandra, speaking to the Seven Sisters Post said, “We are not concerned with whether the NSCN (IM) agreed to talk within the Constitution or without. What we are concerned is the matter of the talk.”
“Our stance has been that there can be no compromise on the territorial integrity of Manipur and will continue to be so,” Naba added. “If the report that the NSCN (IM), which is in negotiation with the Centre has agreed to drop the demand for extension of the boundary beyond Nagaland is true, all that we can say is that it is a “good step”. We think the NSCN (IM) has realised the sentiment of people of Manipur and that of Assam and Arunachal also,” he said.
