North East Today | Shweta Raj Kanwar | Imphal , Nov 8
Gone are the days when transgenders were looked upon with a frown and neglected and denied a place in the society as this group of 24 transgenders from different parts of Manipur are en-route to creating history as they compete for the crown of Miss Manipur Queen for Transgender 2016 on November 11 on Friday at the Tribal Research Institute Auditorium at Chingmeirong in Manipur.
Right from the time of auditions up to the grand finale, the organization of this mega event was once, only a dream, a vision which would have been impossible had it not been for the efforts of Sandra Nandeibam, a 19-year-old trans model from Manipur who made headlines by becoming the only trans model to have graced the ramp of the recently concluded Garnier Fashion event which concluded in Guwahati.
