As Manipur turn to traditional medicinal herb 'Nong-mang-kha', Dweller Teas comes to rescue
As the winter starts to spread chill vibes all around the world, cold and cough are very common, and people are more prone to these seasonal infections. There are also the rising cases of COVID-19 and with no effective cure or treatment available at the moment to fight it, people are exploring other alternatives like traditional herbs to boost their immunity.
Similarly, people of Manipur have gone back to their traditional herbal remedies to strengthen their immune system. ‘Nongmangkha’ which is scientifically known as Phlogocanthus Thyrsiformis is one of the popular remedies known for its antiviral properties, and used by the people of Manipur since time immemorial.
The consumption of ‘Nongmangkha’ has tremendously increased in the state and Dweller Teas has also seen a spike in the demand of its ‘Nong-Mang-Kha Ginger Green Tea’.
Dweller Teas from Manipur has made a name of its own for blending naturally grown, indigenous fruits and herbs into unique tea variants that come with traditional health benefits and a feeling of nostalgia.
As a way of contributing in its own way in the light of the increasing use of ‘Nongmangkha’ products in the state, Dweller has come up with a new variant of ‘Nong-Mang-Kha Ginger Loose Tea’ at a lower price for the convenience of the people of Manipur who are consuming ‘Nongmangkha’ products regularly.
"When we were kids and had cold or fever, we would be forced by the elders in the family to consume Nong-mang-kha just to help us feel better,” said Elizabeth Yambem, Founder of Dweller Teas. “Just like the way my grandma used to boil Nong-mang-kha leaves to help me fight cold, I am sure many mothers and grandmothers out there are using this traditional herb to help their children fight the seasonal cough and cold with its antiviral and antibacterial properties”, she added.
With more variants of Nong-mang-kha teas available now and the festive season right at the corner, ‘Nong-Mang-Kha Ginger Green Tea’ and ‘Nong-Mang-Kha Ginger Loose Tea’ would make great festive gift options. With the pandemic far from being over you could cheer your family and friends with some of these healthy and well-thought ‘Nong-Mang-Kha’ teas from Dweller Teas.
