To a Patriot!
H Ranjita *
He's a man who lived like a man.
Like a man he held his head high
Not because of self pride but of his motherland
For whom he had lived, for whom he had died.
He had given light to many innocent lives
Against all odds, fighting bravely for their cause;
A one-man army against the sea of savage enemies.
A true soldier, he fought till his last breath,
He fought as a brave man, he died but once.
A torch bearer with only two followers, he showed us
The way to overcome all evils in this 'Dark Age';
Together they rang the alarm bells
With their brutal deaths, welcoming that merciless acts,
Bearing every pain of those inhuman treatment,
That terrible violence, with a smile hoping that
It'd awaken the lethargic masses and cure their incorrigible habits.
In this world of compromises and care
He didn't move an inch from his stand
Facing the deadly blow with courage,
Holding his head high, telling the world
Never to bow down and submit to What we don't believe and guiding us
How to live like a man, like a free man.
What example he set to the sleepy youths of today?
What message he so desperately tried to convey
To the corrupt politicians and bureaucrats?
What wish he had just before his death?
No one knew, nor does anybody even today
But are we just pretending?
