The Second Life (TM)
K. Radhakumar *
The sun has long risen in the east
And the morning just wakes up
With a terrible hangover.
The morning stands up
Stretches and yawns –
There is a yawning gap between them.
Clearly, the two are getting divorced.
Times have changed
Since the world was young.
When I was young
I got out of bed
At the crack of dawn.
A late riser
I am now.
I would better see a doctor
About this chest pain
And perennial headache.
I would better take my BP.
My world!
My cosy little world!
I have little contact with the outside world
And I am philosophizing about my place
In the cosmos.
I have come all this way
To see the setting sun.
Ah, no bird sings.
The sun has not blossomed in the sky
And how I want to start again from the beginning.
I wish I could start again from the beginning.
I wish I could.
I wish I could.
