Thadou Inpi and TSA condole the death of Tamu MLA Thangkhohao Haokip
The Thadou people across the world are deeply saddened by the untimely demise of Mr Thangkhohao Haokip, aged 56, Honourable MLA, Tamu 2 Assembly Constituency in Sagaing Assembly, Myanmar. His death is an irreplaceable big loss not only for the Thadou community in Myanmar, but also in India and elsewhere.
Pu Thangkhohao, who was under medical treatment at Mandalay hospital, breathed his last on June 29 on the way back home. A team of Thadou Inpi and TSA from India on behalf of the Indian Thadou community attended the funeral on July 1 at his residence in Namphalong near Moreh and paid respect to the departed soul.
Pu Thangkhohao was elected on National League for Democracy party in 2015, when Myanmar held its first democratic elections after decades of military rule, and was serving as the Chairman, Indigenous Affairs, Government of Sagaing Region. Following his passion about working with the people at political level, he contested MP election in 2010 general election on Chin Progressive Party.

Before entering politics, Pu Thangkhohao worked as a government school teacher for 12 years at different locations, including Jangnomphai where he was the School Head Master, within Sagaing Region.
He was a visionary leader and played a great role for the development and welfare of the Thadous and people from all communities. He was well known for his sense of humility, humour and big heart for the people and will always be remembered for his noble contributions to the society.
We pray that the departed soul rests peacefully in heaven and the bereaved family be comforted.
