Swallows Perching On the Weeping Willows
- Deep from the Soul -
K. Radhakumar *
The green sun rises
With the promise
Of warm autumn in the evening.
In the good old
We used to write love letters
On scented paper
With bunches of
Forget me nots
In the background.
The letter decked out in flowery words
And neatly folded
Was for her eyes only.
In the violent times we live in
Where the tears of the sun
Is still clearing the debris of the twin towers
A boy has e-mailed his love
I luv u - it reads.
Can I help you, love?
No amazing metamorphosis has threatened
The very fabric and texture of love.
No heart is blank;
No spring has passed one's heart by.
The yellow sun shines at noon
Desperately fighting back the tears of hopelessness
And all desires crucified
On the altar of discontentment.
All in all knowledge isn't everything.
As a living being
You really see life -
A one-time affair.
Here is your big chance
And you won't get another.
No autumnal smile is seen in the sky
And I look at the red sun
Until it is swallowed by the darkness.
