SUMMER PROGRAMME ON DATA ANALYSIS IN SOCIAL SCIENCES 2013

Objectives

Social scientists and research scholars engaged in social research generally compile a large body of useful data. Lacking proper knowledge and training in analytical techniques and computer programmes, they are often at a loss to make sense of the data they have collected. They face such questions as which procedure of analysis to follow and what techniques to apply for data on hand, what do the results show, how are the results to be interpreted and explained, how are the findings to be reported, etc. This Programme is intended to help social scientists and research scholars find answers to these and similar questions. It seeks to enhance social researchers’ knowledge of data analysis, both qualitative and quantitative, and trains them in the use of computer software for social research.
